Kitah Alef - First Grade
Jewish Family Life
Our purpose is to affirm and study the practice of Judaism in the home. In the Alef classroom, students investigated the celebration of Jewish holidays in general. This year, the students will begin to look at how Judaism is/may be part of everyday life, home life, rest, and work. Kitah Alef students will concentrate on the Shabbat rituals, traditions, and modern practices.
The students will also be introduced to the idea that Jews have been, and are, connected throughout the world and throughout history. Although we may come from different places and have different kinds of families and backgrounds, we are connected to the same roots. We will illustrate that diversity is richness.
