Adult B' Mitzvah Cohort 5786
November 2025 – June 2026 | Sundays | 10am-11:30am | Zoom
Jewish adults* of any age (13+) are invited to join the 5786 Adult B’Mitzvah cohort. Led and facilitated by Rabbi David, this cohort will learn the intricacies of a Shabbat morning service, dive deep into a weekly parasha (Torah portion), be challenged to engage in chanting Torah from the scroll, and engage in the joys of learning and wrestling with Torah and its layers of commentary and midrash toward the creation of a dvar torah – your own interpretation of Torah. Classes will meet twice per month (on average, schedule below) with the expectation that small learning groups (hevruta) meet once per week outside of class. Join us in making Torah your own, claiming your place in the long line of tradition, discovering where Torah and your values align and where they argue, and learning to truly know a section of Torah while learning ways to delve deeply into others. Our culmination will take place at a Shabbat morning service on Saturday, June 6, 2026, location TBD, as we delve into parashat Shlach.
Registration is free for Kadima members and everyone in the cohort will be asked to assess a meaningful financial contribution to Kadima, their b’mitzvah service & communal celebration, and a tzedakah project of their choice.
