Ra'am (5th-6th grades) Shabbat

Ra’am is our 5th-6th grade class focused on the central questions: How do communities determine their Jewish practices? How do we individually make decisions about how we want to live Jewishly? The class uses theater, role play, illustration/visual arts, debate, reading, videos, and discussions to explore these questions. On Shabbat, Ra’am examines a wide range of Jewish traditions throughout the diaspora and across time, and on Tuesdays, students reflect on the role of Jewish tradition in their own lives. This position is to provide support on Shabbat.

The class uses improv and theater games, group challenges, text study and discussion, arts and crafts, debate, discussion, videography to explore a wide range of Jewish traditions and relationships to social and economic justice. Keshet meets on Tuesdays and Shabbat. This position is to provide support on Shabbat.
